Edwin Stephenson, sometimes erroneously called Edward, was an English first-class cricketer from 1857 to 1873. He was a wicket-keeper who played for Sheffield Cricket Club, and for Yorkshire County Cricket Club when the latter was founded in 1863. Stephenson was born in Headford Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. According to Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, Stephenson was a right-handed batsman, a wicketkeeper and an occasional right arm fast roundarm bowler. In the 1850s, he ran a tobacconist
