Edward David Singateh is a former Gambian politician and former member of the cabinet during the Jammeh era. Singateh was born on 8 August 1968. He joined the army in 1991. Immediately after Yahya Jammeh's coup in July 1994, Singateh was appointed Minister of Defense. Singateh was also a member of the military junta Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council, and hold the position of vice-chairman of the junta. In November 1994 Singateh was promoted to captain.
