Edward John Piszek co-founded the Mrs. Paul's frozen foods brand with John Paul, a bread salesman. Piszek bought out his partner in the 1950s. Among Piszek's philanthropy was acquiring and restoring the Philadelphia house where Tadeusz Kościuszko lived as well as the adjoining property to become the Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial.
