text: Edward Baber (1532–1578) was an English politician, barrister and judge; he was also a wealthy Somerset landowner. He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Bath in the Parliament of 1571 and in that of 1572–1576. He was the younger son of John Baber and Agnes Willet, of the prominent landowning family of Chew Magna, Somerset. He was educated at Lincoln's Inn and was called to the Bar.
