Dunbar is a community in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, United States, 17 miles north of Antlers. A United States Post Office operated here from May 5, 1925, to January 15, 1956. In its early days, it was a sawmill town in the Indian Territory. During the 1880s, the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, more popularly known as the “Frisco”, built a line from north to south through the Choctaw Nation, connecting Fort Smith, Arkansas with Paris, Texas.
