Diego López de Medrano y Hurtado de Mendoza was a noble from the House of Medrano in La Rioja during the successive reigns of John I of Castile, Henry III of Castile and John II of Castile. Diego was a royal ambassador, lawyer and Lord of Agoncillo, Velilla and San Martín de Berberana in the Kingdom of Castile and León. He is not to be confused with his nephew, Don Diego López de Medrano y Zúñiga, Lord of Fuenmayor and Almarza de Cameros, son of his brother Don Juan Martínez de Medrano y Hurtado
