Devghat is one of the famous religious and cultural centers in central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 5,786 people living in 1,132 individual households. The town is located at the junction of the Trishuli and Krishna Gandaki rivers, and is one of the holiest places in Hindu mythology as well as a holy place for Hindu gods.
