Deirdre Anne Forbes is an Irish former broadcasting executive, who was the Director General of RTÉ from April 2016 to June 2023. She was the first woman to hold the role, and the first external appointment in almost 50 years. Prior to joining RTÉ, she was President and Managing Director of Discovery Networks Northern Europe.
