In its beginnings, the Santa Elena school operated in a mansion owned by Don Juan Labatú, The school was founded in 1972 by a farmer from the area. The property was expropriated by the settlement of the time, which was led by Luis Alberto Salgado and Francisco Flores. It was they who arranged for the school to operate in this manor house.
