Professor David Lloyd is a Dublin-born and educated university executive and academic. His academic background was that of a chemist, specialising in computer aided drug design. He currently serves as vice chancellor and president of the University of South Australia; He is the chair of Universities Australia and the immediate past Chair of the Committee for Adelaide. Lloyd was also a past member of South Australia's Economic Development Board.
