Daphne Haldin was a British art historian and honourable secretary of the Society of Jews and Christians. Born on 10 February 1899 in Norwich to Alfred and Edith Haldinstein, she was one of seven children. Her father Alfred was a shoe manufacturer and merchant, and later became President of the Norwich Hebrew Congregation and chairman of the Norfolk Daily Standard Company Ltd, as well as receiving the honour of being made the Sheriff of Norwich.
