Dante Alfred Magnani was an American football player who played nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the 19th round of the 1940 NFL draft. Magnani, a running back, played college football for the St. Mary's College Galloping Gaels in Moraga, California. According to the Oxford English Dictionary the first known use of the word scatback was in reference to Magnani.
