title: Daniel Jacob Danielsen
text: Daniel Jacob Danielsen, nicknamed Dollin, was a Faroese Open Brethren missionary, marine engineer, and humanitarian. While working for the Congo-Balolo Mission between 1901 and 1903, he was noted for his work with Roger Casement during the writing of the report that exposed atrocities committed in the Congo Free State: beyond acting as his engineer and interpreter, his photography helped to bring public attention to the atrocities and galvanised efforts against them.
