Daniel Adam z Veleslavína, was a Czech lexicographer, publisher, translator, and writer. Adam Veleslavín studied at the University of Prague, and from 1569 to 1576 he was professor there. When he married the daughter of the publisher Jiří Melantrich z Aventina (1511–1580), he was forced to leave the university. He started working at the print press and later took it over. He and his collaborators translated and published many historical, religious, and scientific books. Adam himself wrote only o
