title: Czechization
text: Czechization or Czechisation is a cultural change in which something ethnically non-Czech is made to become Czech. This concept is especially relevant in relation to the Germans of Bohemia, Moravia and Czech Silesia as well as the Poles of Trans-Olza who have come under increased pressure of Czechization after the breakup of Austria-Hungary and the formation of a Czechoslovak nation state in 1919; to a smaller extent, it has also occurred with Slovaks and Rusyns.
