Cortes, officially the Municipality of Cortes, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 17,924 people. Cortes faces the Philippine Sea on the eastern part. It has a protected marine sanctuary located in barangay Balibadon, Capandan, Mabahin, Poblacion, Tigao, Uba and Tag-anongan.
