Coromantee, or Cromanty, also called Coromantins, or Kromanti, is the name for the ethnic group who were taken from the Gold Coast during the Atlantic slave trade, and transported primarily to Jamaica and other parts of the West Indies; who’s descendants are today the predominant ethnic group in Jamaica, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, the Raizal Islands, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
