Colchicum hungaricum, popularly known as the Hungarian crocus, is a species of Colchicum found in Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Bulgaria. It has white or pinkish-lilac flowers and blooms in very early spring. It was first described by Viktor Janka in 1886. The Hungarian crocus was depicted on the 2 Forint coin of Hungary from 1992 to 2008.
