The City of Oxford Silver Band is a long-established competing, performing and touring band playing in the British brass band tradition. The band is notable for its emphasis on training and being the progenitor of several other bands in the local area. Having been founded in the mid 19th century it is the oldest surviving brass band in the county of Oxfordshire. Its motto is 'Amicitia per musicam'.
