text: Ciawi is a town and an administrative district in the Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia - not to be confused with the similarly named Ciawi District in Tasikmalaya Regency - and is named for the Awi River. Ciawi District borders the city of Bogor to its northwest. It covers an area of 47.06 km⁲, and had a population of 102,994 at the 2010 Census and 114,853 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 118,257. The Indonesian Livestock Research Center is located in Ciawi.
