Church of Saint George in Banjane, north of Skopje, is an Orthodox Church dating from the Ottoman period. The church belongs to the Skopje diocese of the Macedonian Orthodox Church. The simple church was built in 1548/49, as is recorded above its entrance. It is a single nave church with a vaulted ceiling and a quadrangle apse. The walls are constructed of stone surrounded with bricks and white mortar creating an impression similar to the older, 14th century churches, the golden age of church bu
