Carl Fredrik Christoffer Schander was a professor in marine biology at the University of Bergen, Norway. He was also a thematic leader at the Centre of Excellence in Geobiology. His doctoral thesis explored the evolutionary relationships of the parasitic marine gastropod family Pyramidellidae.
