The Chigirin affair or Chyhyryn affair was a two-phased peasant struggle over land; the struggle lasted from the 1860s through to 1877 in Chigirin district, Kyiv Province in the Russian Empire. The struggle was undertaken by the dusheviki, a group of local peasants who wanted land to be allotted to individual men instead of to households.
