Chester W. "Chet" Morgan was an American politician. He was born in Manchester, Connecticut, on 18 May 1937, to parents Chester E. Morgan and Joanne, née Way. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1955, he married Sylvia McCarthy in 1957. The couple moved to Vernon in 1960, where they raised a family. Morgan enlisted in the Connecticut Army National Guard, serving thirty years and attaining the rank of sergeant major. He was first elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives in
