Charles Henry Chomley was an Australian farmer, barrister, writer, and journalist. His non-fiction and fiction works alike reflected his strong interest and involvement in politics and law. He was born in Sale, Victoria, to banker Henry Baker Chomley and his wife Eliza. He was nephew to prominent Victorians Arthur Wolfe Chomley (barrister) and Hussey Malone Chomley and uncle to Martin Boyd, noted Australian novelist.
