Chanie is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nurzec-Stacja, within Siemiatycze County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Belarus. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) north-east of Nurzec-Stacja, 20 km (12 mi) east of Siemiatycze, and 71 km (44 mi) south of the regional capital Białystok. According to the 1921 census, the village was inhabited by 818 people, among whom 2 were Roman Catholic, 726 Orthodox, and 7 Mosaic. At the same time,
