Châu Thành is a district (huyện) of An Giang province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2019 the district had a population of 151,368. The district covers an area of 347 km2. The district capital lies at An Châu. It was created when the district Châu Thành X was split into Châu Thành and Thoại Sơn district, under decree 300/CP on August 23, 1979. Under South Vietnam, it was part of Long Xuyên province. The district comprises the thị trấn An Châu and 12 communes, which include a total
