The Carlyle-Blakey Farm, in Barrow County, Georgia near Winder, Georgia, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. It is notable as the site of a prominent agricultural reform demonstration in 1948, which addressed a huge problem in Georgia agriculture. This was the fact that few Georgia farmers terraced their fields or rotated crops, leading to severe erosion. An extreme example was the development of what became known as the Providence Canyon, from growth of a farm gully
