text: Carl Albert Kemmler was a German clergyman and botanical collector. From 1847 to 1863 he served as a pastor in Untersontheim, afterwards performing a similar role in the town of Donnstetten. As a botanist, he collected plants in Württemberg. His personal herbarium was donated to the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, and his large collection of lichens were sent to the Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart, but unfortunately destroyed during World War II.
