text: Carex arkansana is a tussock-forming species of perennial sedge in the family Cyperaceae. It is native to central parts of the United States. The sedge has no obvious rhizomes. It has 5 to 60 cm long culms that are 1.4 to 2 mm wide at the base thinning to 0.7 to 0.9 mm at long projections that are wider than they are long. The leaf blade is usually 1 to 1.25 mm in width.
