Eventually consisting of three beamlines at the Synchrotron Radiation Center at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, US, it served the Canadian synchrotron community until the opening of the Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, finally ceasing operations in 2008.
