Calliscelio is a parasitoid wasp genus which contains two species, C. elegans and C. teleogrylli. C. teleogrylli was first described in New Zealand in 1983 and has yet to be in any further published research. C. elegans was first described as Caloteleia elegans on Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands in 1910 by British entomologist Robert Cyril Layton Perkins, who believed it not to be an indigenous species of Hawaii.
