text: Byron Gray Stout was a politician from the U.S. state of Michigan. Stout was born in Richmond, New York and moved with his parents to Michigan in 1831. He attended the common schools and graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1851. He studied law and became superintendent and principal of Pontiac High School in 1853 and 1854 respectively. Stout served as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives in 1855 and 1857, serving as speaker in the latter year. He was also membe
