text: The Brühl family is an old German noble family from Saxony-Thuringia, with their ancestral seat in Gangloffsömmern in Thuringia. Branches of the family still exist today. Heinrich von Brühl, who indirectly controlled Saxony and the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth during the 18th century, was a powerful statesman in the Holy Roman Empire. One of the most important branches of the Brühl family uses the spelling Brüel or Bryll and mainly resides in Denmark, Sweden, Poland, and United States.
