The Border Security Force (BSF) is the Border Service branch of the Central Armed Police Force of India. It is a paramilitary responsible for guarding the border, particularly India’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is under the command of the Ministry of Home Affairs and was formed in the wake of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for connected matters therewith.
