Barbara "Bobbie" Lucille Banda was an American activist who self-identified as a Juaneño tribal elder as a member of the Juaneño Band of Mission Indians, an organization that self-identifies as a Native American tribe but has no federal or state recognition. Banda successfully championed efforts to introduction Native American curriculum, including Juaneño language courses, into the public school systems around San Juan Capistrano, California, during the 1970s.
