text: Robert Harry Hassard was a Canadian ice hockey player. He played 126 games in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Black Hawks between 1949 and 1954. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1948 to 1960, was spent in the minor leagues. Hassard was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He was a long-time resident and coach in Stouffville, Ontario. He died in December 2010 and was survived by his son Bill, a Leaf draft pick in 1974, and
