Blockhouse is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Lunenburg Municipal District in Lunenburg County. It was named after the blockhouses constructed by Captain Ephraim Cook to protect colonists following a raid in 1756. The final blockhouse in the community burned down in 1874. Blockhouse is home to the oldest Waldorf-focused school in the Atlantic provinces. An independent school, it is based on theoretical foundations laid down by Rudolf Steiner and adheres to the
