William George Pickel is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Los Angeles Raiders from 1983 to 1990 and New York Jets from 1991 to 1994. Pickel attended St. Francis Prep. He played college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. As a second-round draft pick of the Raiders in 1983, Pickel overcame injuries to win a Super Bowl as a rookie, and was a sack threat during the early part of his career
