Bernice R. Labedz was a member of the Nebraska Legislature from 1976 to 1993 from District 5 in Omaha, Nebraska. Appointed by Nebraska Governor J. James Exon on July 22, 1976, to fill the unexpired term of Eugene T. Mahoney, she was reelected in 1976, 1980, 1984, and 1988. She was a member of the Democratic Party. Labedz was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on September 19, 1919, one of 17 children. She attended St. Francis Catholic School in Omaha and was a graduate of Omaha South High School. On May 9
