The MAC-8, better known today as the BELLMAC-8, is an 8-bit microprocessor designed by Bell Labs. Production began in CMOS form at Western Electric as the WE212 in 1977. The MAC-8 was used only in AT&T products, like the 4ESS. No commercial spec sheets were published, so it is little known as a result.
