text: The Bellevue Country Club Open was an American golf tournament held in 1920 and 1921. The tournament was held at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse, New York. The first event was won easily by the legendary Walter Hagen. His win ultimately earned the imprimatur of the PGA Tour. The following year's event was re-titled the "New York State Open" although it was not officially sponsored by any formal golfing body in the state.
