Beita is a Palestinian town in the Nablus Governorate in the northern Israeli-occupied West Bank located 13 kilometers (8.1 mi) southeast of Nablus. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the town had a population of 11,682 in 2017. It consists of five clans which branch out to thirty families. There are many houses dating back to the Roman era. The current mayor, elected in 2004 is Arab ash-Shurafa. The town contains four mosques and three clinics. Since 1967, under the Isra
