Barrie Reith Linklater was a British illustrator and painter, latterly specialising in equine subjects. Linklater was born in Birmingham, then in Warwickshire, England, on 11 June 1931. He was educated at Woolwich Polytechnic School of Art. He first worked as an illustrator in London, then in 1957 moved to Australia for four years where he worked as a freelancer. He worked for publications including Look and Learn. In 1975 he was commissioned by the Welsh Guards to paint a portrait of Prince Phi
