Bargir Bakshi Balaji Rao was a military strategist and administrator who served briefly as the second Dewan of Mysore from 1811 to 1812 to Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar III. Rao was the immediate successor to Purnaiya and was succeeded by Savar Bakshi Rama Rao in February 1812. Before being appointed dewan, Rao served as soldier under Haidar Ali and Tipu Sultan at Devanahalli and Madhugiri and later was elevated to a chief commander. He was also the clerk of Kysapura, Doddaganagavadi, Ibbalikehal
