text: Arthur Eustace Morgan was the eighth Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University. Born in Bristol, England, he was educated at University College, Bristol and Trinity College, Dublin. After a career as a lecturer and (later) professor of English Literature at the universities of Exeter and Sheffield, he was appointed the first Principal of University College Hull in 1926, remaining in situ until 1935.
