text: Antonius de Liedekerke, also Antonie Charles de Liedekercke (1587–1661) was a Dutch sea captain and ambassador to the court of the king of Morocco Mohammed esh Sheikh es Seghir in the 17th century. Liedekerke was born in Antwerp. In 1627 he married Willemina van Braeckel. In 1637 the couple was painted by Johannes Verspronck. Both portraits are in the Frans Hals Museum. In 1638 they had one son, called Samuel. He was painted by Gerard ter Borch as a child, together with his parents. Antonius de
