Animaná is a town and rural municipality in Salta Province in northwestern Argentina. At the 2001 census, the town had 1454 residents. Animaná means "sky place" in the Cacán language. Animaná is located on National Route 40 south of San Carlos towards Cafayate. It is located 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from Cafayate, and 200 kilometres (120 mi) from Salta by way of Cafayate.
