The Angel of Peace in Mannheim is a memorial for the victims of Nazi Germany and the Second World War, which was created in 1951/52 by the sculptor Gerhard Marcks. The statues other names are Mannheimer Engel and Angel of Death; the locals call the sculpture Die schepp' Liesel.
