Amman Arab University, abbreviated AAU, is a private university in Amman, Jordan, established in 1997 as a non-profit private university for graduate studies to be the first Jordanian university specialized in postgraduate programs for masters and doctoral studies. On September 30, 1998, the Higher Education Council approved the University to begin teaching by the decree No. 1625. It received its first group of students at the beginning of the second semester of the 1999/2000 academic year. The
